There are two different Americas for Americans. The first consists of the history, ideas, values, and surviving culture of freedom that many of us hold in our minds and hearts. We love this America and it hurts, confuses, frustrates and sometimes even angers us when we see our leaders or even other citizens disrespect, attack, or disregard this America. The problem, however, is that most of us fail to admit that this America is like a mirage – a leftover illusion that we cling to, even though day after day, and event after event, the facts scream at us that the world we live in is much different than this America we love. Many of us, therefore, talk about “change” that must come, we talk about “saving” the Country or “taking it back” or “restoring” the Constitution. But these are hollow platitudes for those who remain in denial and fail to grasp what must first take place before any of these things are truly possible. The longer we tolerate this denial and allow ourselves to believe in our phantom images and imaginations, and fail to see what America has become, (through our hopeful, but frankly naive perspectives), we will accomplish nothing in the way of real progress or reform in the freedom movement.

The other America is discovered when citizens who love this Country have their illusions dashed and innocent love disabused – when they brush up against the reality of America’s current government. Americans brush up against their government whenever they receive an unjust fine; or whenever they are charged with a crime; whenever they are threatened by a government employee or bureaucrat with the power and force of government; whenever they find themselves in a court; or see their government endorse or even require some evil.  These experiences are growing increasingly common. Through these, Americans experience firsthand the corrupting power of bureaucrats, compromised police, politicians, lawyers, and prosecutors, who are usurpers. Their usurpations hide behind the shadows and in invisible fields which are allowed only by the misplaced good faith of many trusting Americans. For almost 100 years now, these bureaucrats, compromised police, politicians, lawyers, and prosecutors, in all levels of power, have hijacked America’s government in the service of their own interests and other private interests that prop them up, that protect them, and that keeps them in power. When an American brushes into these imposters, to further their racket or to keep from being discovered, these usurpers hide behind illegitimate authority; and the usually unexpecting American experiences, to their shock, a reality very different than they expect; a very different America where the media does not inform but instead spreads propaganda and lies in furtherance of the same injustice of the bureaucrats, compromised police, politicians, lawyers, and prosecutors. In this America citizens are not presumed innocent but instead can be accused and then punished at any time; and upon accusation alone, blackmailed, tormented, imprisoned, and in some cases even killed in order for the usurpers to protect their power and their way of operation. These usurpers destroy normal men and women, turning lives upside down with impunity. Good men are called criminals; weak men are exploited still further; intelligent men are shamed; and in a myriad of ways destroyed if they do not get in line. Worse, the entire notion of private households, family, parents, and life centered in the home – is constantly mocked and ridiculed and attacked. American’s increasingly accept these things because the alternative is to resist, to stand up, and to, therefore, become a target of bureaucrats, the compromised police, politicians, lawyers, and prosecutors. Religion, education, civics, wellness, enterprise, culture, and sport – have been infiltrated by these usurpers. These are all political now and no matter where an individual turns, if he or she dares to act or speak out in any of these seven arena’s and advocate for classic American values, freedom, individual rights derived from God, self-government, the virtue of homelife, household or family government, or even traditional notions of family, he exposes himself as an enemy to the interests served by the usurpers and therefore, comes face to face with power and evil of this other America which has become a reality by growing up in the midst of people who knew better, like tares growing among the wheat. For a while it was tolerable, but now the tares are suffocating the wheat and those who support the tares seek constantly to uproot and destroy.

We can win this fight!

It is hard to maintain the courage and conviction needed to see what has happened to America. The temptation of the earnest patriot is to turn away, to rationalize, to keep their eyes half shut, avoiding the reality of being awakened by pretending that a little more sleep will bring back the pleasantness of a now-gone dream. But, this temptation like the worse illicit drug, is a merciless addiction. Like its companion plaque of false thinking and false ideas about collectivism, socialism, and the proper role of government, any indulgence is destructive to the individual and to the cause of freedom.

These two America’s cannot both exist in reality at the same time; and unfortunately, to win this fight we the living must awaken to the awful reality that the America we love has been pushed aside and related to the world of illusions and fleeting hopes, while the nightmare of tyranny grows and chokes and darkens the real world day by day. I share this vision and declaration because even though our situation is grave and the consequences of our current situation dire, it is not too late to act. It is not too late to awaken, to unite with like-minded friends, to restore our homes, and to live again – step by step – as free American’s.

If we will commit to rebuilding home and family first, based on the principles at the core of America’s first revolution, we can unite free households in this broader fight and bring new strategies and effective new solutions to townhalls, capital hills and to Washington D.C., but we must avoid the temptation of the past several decades in thinking that a nation can rise higher than it’s homes. Real solutions require committed households living principles lives before any elections, legislation, or other activism can be pursued with integrity and legitimate hope for the future. This is the lesson we must learn when reflecting on the work of thousands of men and women who have failed to stem the tide towards tyranny so far. If we do this, in the future, we can again see a free America. This course is long and there is a high price to pay, which comes in many forms, but it is not too late. In fact, in the midst of our darkness and difficulty, there are still many beautiful blessings and bright days ahead of us. The time is ripe for those who are not content to tolerate or to stay in the half-awakened/ half-asleep state of denial and who are willing to stand up for freedom no matter the cost. For these few the future is boundless and the rebirth of Amerca and the fulfillment of its destiny is possible.
